Movie Poster Promo

In Mr. Sanderl's GT class we have started a new project, movie trailers. We are now working on the posters for our trailers. In my poster the main character you see is the Lady In White (Daileen Barton) . The Lady In White is a girl that is a spirit, although she is not like other spirits. She is dressed in white. She sneaks up on people at the most randomest times. 

The title of my movie poster is "The Lady In White". I made that are title because the lady in white is what are movie trailer is based on and because she is the main character. My text for my poster is a little scary looking just so that it matches the title. The text I have is the reviews, actors, productions, and of course the title. I also made it pop up a little bit and did some kerning to it. Kerning is a process that adjusts the space between each letters. Kerning should be used because it makes the text unique and different.

The overall impact of the layer effects and the filters on my poster made it way better. My layer effects made my poster look more interesting and one of a kind. The layer effects also made my poster easier to read and it made my text pop up. The filter that I used is a black and white one. I used that filter because it matched my poster really good and it made it look a little scarier.

Proactive or Procrastination?

To be honest I think I am proactive and a procrastinator. A little bit of both. I think that I am proactive because sometimes I do have enough energy to do something or I feel like I need to do something that instant. I think that I am also a procrastinator because I get really lazy and I just don't feel like doing anything that moment. So overall it just depends how I feel.

My level of my productivity relates to my amount of free time because when I do my homework first then sometimes I have a lot of free time later. For example, say I do all of my homework on Friday then I have the rest of the weekend to have fun because I have no stress on me. Now sometimes this does not happen, I get really excited that the weekend is here and I completely forget about my homework until Sunday night. I get really nervous because I'm afraid that I will not finish my homework on time. Then I tell myself "don't make this happen again!, do your homework on Friday when you come home".

Something I would change about my work habits are to do all of my work on Fridays. That way I have the rest of the weekend to enjoy myself. I would change my work habit by making it a routine to complete all of my work on Fridays. If this does not work then I wouldn't do anything over the weekend because I would get really tired on Sunday and I will not do my work. I rather finish my work on Friday then not do anything over the weekend.

My Visual Poem

        My visual poem is about beautiful nature. Nature is the world. I chose the topic "nature" because its everywhere and theres a lot to say about it. The visuals make an impact by helping the people who are watching my poem understand more about my topic and the words that I say throughout my poem. I really had fun creating my visual poem because there was more freedom.

Applying the special effects were a little challenging for me because I didn't know exactly what to do, Luckily I did have some experience from the last project. Applying the special effects were fun because I got to explore with the different ones. The music in the back round relates to the topic of my poem, which is about nature. It is very peaceful, calm, and relaxing. It also makes it easier for the audience to understand what my poem is about.

I am very satisfied with my results. Being that this my first time doing a visual poem I think it came out very good. I think I had great pictures, videos, and audio. It took a lot of effort because I had to go to different places to get pictures and videos for my poem. I am very proud of myself.

Finished News Story

Our story was about the new Safeway that is going to be built in the Hokulei Village across from the YMCA. The people who were contributed in our story was Loren Weiner, Jaesha Mata, Cara Griffin, and me. Two Maryl construction workers were also contributed in our story, As well as my dad, Curran Chang. Im very proud of my team and I because we accomplished our news story. Our news story was full with hard work and confidence. I also wanna thank my dad and the two other workers because without them our story would not be done.

Are final story turned out amazing! We had enough b-roll, good rule of thirds, and enough people to interview. I am happy with it because it looked very professional and well done. I am proud of my team and I because we were able to accomplish this fantabulous video. I think that are video was the best my team and I could do. We did a very good job!

 To conclude are critique results, we did very good. 18 people voted us as a 3 and 11 people voted us as a 4! That's great! I agree with are results because I think that my team did a terrific job and we put a lot of effort into the video. We defiantly deserved are results.

The Experiment

In the beginning of the school year we had a photoshop assignment. It was an interesting and fun assignment. I liked it because I got to explore a lot. I decided to make an image of my name using different colors such as yellow and blue. Mr.Sanderl let us do whatever we wanted on the experiment.

We did it because we could get to know how photoshop works and also what we could do with it. There was some challenges that I faced through out the experiment. A challenge that I faced was figuring out how to make one side a different color. With my friends and other resources they taught me how to do it. It was a learning experience for me.

Something that was wrong about it was that it was my first time doing this assignment so I didn't know exactly what to do. So I did come to some hard times. Something right about it was that after doing it I learned everything about it. That way if we do this experiment again I will know what to do. It was something that I enjoyed and I would do it again.

Real World Report

On March 30th 2014 there was a noxious odor in Walmart on Kauai. Everybody in the store had to evacuate. The fire department came and searched the store. They couldn't find out the cause of the odor. There was an investigation that the odor was in one place at the entry of Walmart. They continued to search the store. Then they opened the store at 2:00pm on Sunday.


My opinion that surrounds the issue is that it was a very dangerous event. It caused harmful reactions to the people that were in Walmart. It caused eye and throat irritation. Luckily no one was caused by death. There was 9 people that had to attend the hospital.


We should care about it because it could've caused death. Their families don't want to loose a family member. Everyone survived luckily. So their families weren't hurt or sad. They all probably appreciate it.

Lessons Learned

The most interesting part of my project is getting out into the community. Its nice to meet new people, go to different places, and get to learn new things. My team and I  really enjoy that. Its also a fun thing to do. So far I have met three different people that are involved with the new Safeway. We went to the campus location across from Cheifess Kamakahelei middle school in the Hokulei Village. We learned what other stores are going to be built along with the Safeway.

The biggest roadblock that my team and I handled is when we started to interview there was a microphone problem. The microphone sounded really static. We checked if it was on and we also took out the batteries and put it back in. None of those strategies worked. Then we decided to put the microphone in a different place. We tested it out and it worked! You could hear his voice clear. My team is doing a great job with everything but that's just the biggest roadblock we had so far.

The most valuable part of the filmmaking process is getting it done. My team and I watch over the video a few times and we edit through it to make sure it makes sense and everything is in the right order. We check everything such as the sound quality and b-roll. My team and I worked very hard to get our video done. It takes time and a lot of hard work.
